Lloyds Banking Group
In this initiative with Lloyds Banking group - I was tasked to create an emotive suicide awareness piece to be used internally for their prevention programme. The banking sector is a fast-paced relentless environment, where deadlines are tight, and the workload is demanding. This highly pressurised environment can result in spiralling mental health and even suicidal ideations. Holding onto these issues and bringing them to work will impact the ability of individuals to perform tasks to their usual levels, and this will further cause negative implications to one’s mental health. In this piece the protagonist has been suffering from mental health related issues for a while and he has been unable to escape the dark slump he finds himself in. Work was once a place of enjoyment- that provided mental stimulation. But over time the workload has become too much. Causing a decline that has painted a black picture over all his life. He is shackled to this career and in his mind, there is no career progression or no chance of mental improvement. Suicide seems like an option that makes sense in his current position. He yearns for companionship but doesn’t know how to connect to his colleagues due to it being such a taboo subject, so he trudges through life hoping that things to will get better on its own. But they never will.
